The partners of The Gilliard Group are building a real estate investment firm that is sustainable and will leave a positive footprint in the world. It is our hope that the company and its mission will be carried on by our children long after we are gone. Our mission and the impetus for the daily growth and development of the Gilliard Group by its partners is the desire to attain peace of mind. The peace of mind that comes with the knowledge that you are making a difference in communities by providing quality housing, that through corporate giving you are supporting that communities school systems and that you can sleep at night knowing that you are providing for your family, while making a difference.

In a global society, where people are networked socially, technologically and, based on the past decade’s technology, stock market and housing booms and busts, psychologically, we as a society are seeking some sense of stability. Our partners, buy and hold investors, private lenders and rehabbers all want to feel they are making sound investment decisions and that they are well informed to do so. They want to see aspirations met and exceeded and dreams fulfilled for themselves and their families. They are seeking results and can take refuge in the fact that we are all facing some of the same obstacles in life and while our individual struggles may differ that collaboratively we can realize our dreams.

Our Associates want to be a part of something that is much larger than just a job. They want to be respected as professionals, engaged in their roles and a part of something unique and worthwhile. They want a work environment where they can learn and grow and where they are empowered to make meaningful change. They want to feel like they are part of an organization with purpose, one that is dedicated to the betterment of all its constituents and puts clients first. With that sense of purpose in mind, they seek to understand the needs and concerns of our clients and to meet and exceed their expectations because they can empathize. Our associates have their own loved ones that they want to be taken care of emotionally, psychologically and financially but they also want to be able to sleep at night knowing that everyday, the work they have done has made an impact.

Our potential homeowners want to fulfill the “American dream.” They want to be informed through the home buying process and don’t want to be over sold or end up with the wrong mortgage product. They want safe affordable in stable neighborhoods where their children can play in the parks and streets with out any concerns for their safety. They want to build equity in their homes and intergenerational wealth. They want the pride of homeownership without fear of foreclosure. They want help from a company who truly understands and will act with integrity to make that happen because at the end of the day they are seeking the peace of mind that homeownership provides.

If we assume that the normal human condition is one of optimism, compassion, a desire for respect and to do “well while doing good,” we can also assume that a desire to pay it forward can trump fear of the unknown and greed. People, when given the right tools, a trusting relationship built on transparency and hope, will gravitate toward and seize the opportunity to make change.
